I was really into a girl in one of my classes back in college and would flirt with her everyday. She of course had a boyfriend and it didn't go anywhere. After a few months she broke up with the guy and the door swung open for me.She finally agreed to go out with me and I decided to take her to this really nice Italian restaurant downtown. On my way out of the house I trip and fall into the fence in the front yard and cut up my stomach pretty bad.My roommate of course warns me that I should cancel, but I am unwilling to let this opportunity slip buy. I clean the wound as best I could and head out to pick up the girl. We begin talking and having a wonderful meal. The next thing I remember is waking up with my stomach covered in red goo inside of an ambulance. I'm freaking out because I think my stomach split open and my insides spilled out.My date informs me that it's not my guts but instead it is marinara sauce. She tells me that I gone into shock at the table, passed out onto my plate and fell to the floor. I felt like the biggest idiot at the time, but I ended up getting the girl. We have been happily married for the last 4 years.

3 Vote(s)

I came to the realization today that the average American's math skills are in pretty poor shape. I'll give you a few examples:I work with 4 young women who are 18-21 years old. They are all high school graduates and a couple of them are going to college. Their job is to collect the cover charge for the club we work in. They deal with cash and the cover charge is $8. So they are constantly dealing with situations with people paying $8 out of $20 or $24 out of $40.The sad thing is that they are constantly asking me what the change is. They do not have the basic math skills to do these computations in their heads. How hard is to take $24 out of $40 and give $16 changeHere's another one. A couple years back I was at the deli and asked for 2 tenths of a pound of turkey. The young kid working behind the counter gave me a blank stare and eventually responded that pounds don't come in tenths. WTF! The kid so confused that he had to ask for a manager to help...Yet another. I have a friend who is in a top ranked school in the country earning her Masters degree. But she has to use a calculator for anything having to do with math. If she has to add 30 and 15, out comes the calculator. And one more. Did you know there are a lot of young people out there that can't tell the time on a regular clock with the hands on it They are. They only know how to tell time on a digital clock. Now how hard is it to tell timeI just don't get it. Basic math still has a big importance in todays life. Even with all the computers around. How do you know you are not getting ripped off when you buy something on sale at the store. If you can't do the math on 25% off, then how do you know if you actually got the right priceIf your basic math skills are poor you are more likely to get ripped off with a credit card offer or a loan of any type. People need to understand if they are getting a fair shake or not and to do so they need to have a basic understanding of math.

1 Vote(s)

Since I had a close encounter of the roach kind last night, let me tell you another cockroach story. Once upon a time I was asked to fix a computer for a friend of the family. She was a really nice lady so I agreed with no reservations.I go over to their house and immediately am overwhelmed with the nastiness of their house. Now a lot of people complain that they or others live in a pig sty, well they don't know how bad one can live until they are in a home like this. There was garbage all over the place, piles of dirty clothes, piles of clean clothes and roaches crawling around all over the place. Note that is mid day and there were roaches crawling on the walls, the tables and on just about everything else in the house. Very disgusting!Of course I wanted to leave right then and there, but couldn't. I figured it wouldn't kill me and I would bag up the computer real quick and be gone ever quicker. So I tell them I need to look at the computer more closely and that I would like to take it home. They agree and give me a trash bag to put the computer into. I get that sucker bagged up and jet out of there ASAP. On the drive home I am praying the bag wouldn't rip because I had no idea what crawled in there while I was bagging up the PC.After 15 minutes I get home and park in the driveway. I spray half a can of raid into the bag and sealed it up for a few hours. After grabbing some lunch I come back and open up the bag, take out the computer, and look inside. The computer had become a roach motel. The case of the computer was filled with roaches and there were even a few still living inside. I took the whole PC apart and cleaned every part. It was disgusting. There was roach crap all over the place. The roaches had crawled through it and tracked it on every part inside the computer. This is one of the nastiest things I have ever seen. I took the case outside and washed out the case with the hose.I will never do something like this for someone again. That was just too gross. It was like I was on Fear Factor or something.

4 Vote(s)

So last night I was putting some left overs into the microwave and I saw a cockroach in there. Thinking no problem, I closed the door and nuked that bugger for 10 seconds. Roach gone.I tossed my food in there and set the cook time for 4 min 30 sec. I look into the microwave 2 minutes into its nukage and see that freaking roach crawling around in there. I'm like WTF I was like it was sunning itself in microwaves walking all around in there. It's not going after my food so I let it finish warming. Plus I'm curious how much microwave radiation this roach can take. I watch in anticipation to see if the roach is getting larger The roach doesn't grow, but it does start moving around quicker in there.Times out and I take my meal out. The roach is still moving around in the microwave. So I go grab a newspaper off the table and give it a big whack. It takes the blow like a boxer with an iron jaw.So I whack it 5 more times in rapid succession. The roach is now dead. Did I do the right thing Maybe I should have captured this super roach and sent it off for science to study

1 Vote(s)
